During the week of June 12th, Switchfast exhibited at NeoCon, one of the biggest trade shows of the year for the commercial design industry. Exhibiting at this show was a big thrill for us. We met a ton of interesting people, and the opportunity to exhibit allowed us to have fun with how we introduced Switchfast to an audience of forward-thinking designers.
To capture their attention, we knew we needed to put together something which stood out from the pack. So, rather than trying to go with a trendy, ultra-modern design for our booth, we went the opposite direction, bringing back an early-1960’s design aesthetic for our space (as you can see in the image below). That meant orange shag carpet, throwback tables, futuristic-looking chairs and even an old, hollowed-out TV with a monitor installed.
Playing on a loop in the TV was a video we created specifically for this show. In-between classic commercials from the likes of Chef Boyardee (the real guy!), we inserted our video, which was created as a tongue-in-cheek homage to these older commercials. You can watch the video below.
